Chigwell Boys 0 - 1 Westward Boys 26th April 2009 League
Chigwells under 10s amazing run came to an end suffering there one and only loss of this campaign on the last day of the season. The boys had amassed an amazing tally of fifteen wins and only two draws before todays game. They can consider themselves a little unlucky not to have kept there unbeaten run intact but this defeat could not dampen the spirits as the boys celebrated winning the League.
First half and Chigwell were desperately unlucky not to go ahead when Toms goalbound Header was handled off the line, the resulting penalty miss was to be the difference between the two sides in an evenly battled contest. Chigwell went in at half time 1-0 down and despite having the lions share of the second half could not break down a resillient Westward defence. A few lessons were learnt but really today was all about being crowned LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

Rushingham 1 - 4 Chigwell Boys 19th April 2009 League
The question on everybodies minds was, how would the boys play after securing the league title last week? and the answer was positively! With the pressure off the boys comfortably saw off second place Rushingham to secure another three points to keep there amazing unbeaten run going. (thats fifteen wins, only two draws and no losses!)
First half and our very own Captain Marvel Myles was in awesome form totally dominating the centre of the park to deservedly earn Man of the Match for the second week in a row! What with Andy and Tom working tirelessly either side of him and Eren up front causing havoc Rushingham were struggling to contain the boys.
The opening goal was a great team move and an example of how hard the boys have been working on the training ground recently. Charlie (covering for James in goal) released defender George, George put the ball down the left wing for midfielder Andy who in turn released Eren, Eren unleashed an unstoppable shot across the keeper where our very own "Fox in the Box" Tom managed to get the final touch to make it four goals in four games.
It wasn't long before Chigwell added a second, Samuel on for Andy (involved in only his second game) cushioned Erens pass into the path of Myles who slotted home a peach of a shot with his left foot from outside the area 2-0. The boys were working tirelessly to increase the lead and whenever Rushingham threatened, the defensive trio of Charlie, George and Kieran stood firm allowing the boys to go in at the break 2-0 up.
The half time team talk included a timely reminder of the last game when going in 2-0 up and thinking the game was won, (It went to 2-2 before Chigwell scored the winner).
But the boys were not in the mood for any complacency today, Myles was outstanding again and Eren was involved in a great physical battle with Rushinghams defence working fiercely but fairly up front determined that this wasn't to be the first game this season he was going to be left off the scoresheet.
Sure enough he earn't himself a goal cutting inside from the left hand byeline to slot the ball home comfotably 3-0. Rushingham managed to pull one back which from Chigwells point of view was a sloppy goal to concede 3-1. Rushinghams tails were up and Chigwell had lost some composure until Andy settled it with a lovely strike from outside the
box 4-1
. Full credit to Eren for the assist. All in all a good team performance with each and every boy playing there part.
Special mentions to Charlie who stood in for James competently, Samuel, it can't be easy coming into the side this late in the day having no competitive experience but he did himself justice, Andy who has not fully recovered from injury but put himself about and scored a great goal, Tom who was clearly upset before the start but overcome his problems and i'm sure scoring so early took his mind off things and last but not least the defensive partnership of George and Kieran, who are a integral part of our success this season and are often overlooked.

Senrab C 2 - 3 Chigwell Boys 5th April 2009 League
CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!
After a great unbeaten run of 14 wins and 2 draws, Chigwell finally clinched the title with two games to spare.
Chigwell showed their strength and depth again as they were without goalkeeper James and key midfielders Finley and Andy today. Charlie took the gloves and gave a great performance, new signing Samuel made a promising debut and Max stepped in comfortably and played his best defensive game to date.
First half and with Captain Myles dominating midfield aided by Tom and Max, it wasn't long before Eren tested the keeper, after being put through by Myles, Senrabs goalkeeper pulled off a spectacular save. This only inspired Eren who minutes later scored a spectacular solo effort, winning the ball out on the right wing, he cut inside before unleashing a powerful shot into the top right hand corner. It wasn't long before Chigwell added a second when Tom slotted home after Senrabs keeper could only parry a rasping drive from Eren. (That's three goals in three games from Tom) Senrab tried to get back into the game but the defensive trio of Charlie, George and especially Kieran who was having one of his best games in Chigwell colours (we're all going to miss you Kieran) stood strong.
Second half and through a combination of mistakes from Chigwell and good football from Senrab the home team managed to get themself back on level terms.
But Chigwell dug in, no more so than inspirational captain Myles and when with seven minutes left he set Eren free with a great through ball, it was perhaps apt that ace forward Eren would be the boy to clinch the title with his thirty third goal of the season. Special mention today to Charlie who pulled off a couple of great saves, Max who worked hard on the defensive side of his game and debutant Samuel who couldn't of found it easy making his debut but did himself proud.

Colebrook Royals 0 - 5 Chigwell Boys 29th mar 09 League
Its been a while coming but the boys gave as good a TEAM performance as we've seen this season. Each and every lad played his part in an exciting game against a very good footballing side. Keeper James Manning set the tone with a great save at the feet of Colebrooks forward, The defensive partnership of George Sewell and Kieran Hilson (Also Andy Martin when called upon) were looking solid. Eren Muti was working unselfishly up front and his partnership with Tom Collister is continuing to flourish with Eren setting up Tom for his second goal in two games. Eren then got on the scoresheet and the boys went in at half time ahead for the first time in ages (2-0).
Second half and Colebrook came out all fired up but it wasnt long before Chigwell scored a third through Eren and killed the game as Colebrooks heads dropped, Finley Horn and Captain Myles Judd dominated the midfield and Finley deservedly scored a great individual goal before Eren rounded off proceedings with a MUTIFUL HAT TRICK!
With 13 wins and 2 draws and three games left Chigwell are in sight of the winning post but must remember the season is far from over.

Chigwell Boys 2 - 1 Harold Hill 28th Mar 09 League
In the first of two games this weekend Chigwell did just enough against a good footballing Harold hill side to claim the three points and keep there record intact.
Eren Muti turned provider to set up Tom Collister to put Chigwell ahead. The boys let the lead slip due to lack of concentration and went in level.
Second half and playing up the slope Chigwell dominated, forcing Harold Hills Goalkeeper into a succession of top drawer saves earning him Man of the Match before the ball slipped between his legs to allow Eren to score the winner. In all honesty the boys could have scored a couple more if they had played more as a team but they still managed to keep this great run going.

Senrab A 1 - 2 Chigwell Boys 22nd mar 2009 League
Venue Wanstead flats, Weather a Beautiful spring morning and there was an aura of expectancy from the boys!
Chigwell started off brightly passing the ball around confidently and pressing Senrab, Eren led the line confidently, captain Myles marshalled the midfield aided in turn by Max, Charlie,Andy and Tom and the defensive trio of James, Kieran and especially George were keeping Senrab quiet.
The constant threat of Eren paid early dividends when he calmly slotted home after a lovely through ball by Myles to put Chigwell 1-0 up, At this point it looked like it was going to be a comfortable victory but despite attempts from Andy, Charlie, Myles and Eren (closest being when he sidefooted past the keeper only for the ball to be cleared off the line)the boys couldnt increase ther lead. Full credit to a much improved Senrab A side who capitalised on some over confidence in defence to go in at the break level.
Second half and Chigwell pushed for the elusive winning goal, Senrab battled well and played some nice football at times but the boys superior fitness levels started to show and you could only see a goal coming from Chigwell. With five minutes remaining Man of the Match Myles calmly slotted home from the spot to ensure victory after a Senrab defender handled on the line to stop a goalbound header from Myles.

Chigwell Boys 3 - 2 Senrab C 15 Mar 2009 League
Chigwell were forced into another reshuffle, with inspirational captain Finley unavailable and midfield dynamo Myles struggling it looked as though they were going to struggle to fill the gaps against a strong Senrab side.
But of course the lads had other ideas no more so than Man of the Match Tom and match winner Andy, Tom buoyed by his support from the touchline gave his performance of the season to date showing everyone what he is capable of! Andy was not far behind him!
First half and playing down the slope Chigwell got off to a great start through forward Eren who recieved the ball from Andy on the halfway line and went on an amazing run at full pelt with the ball stuck firmly to his feet giving Senrabs defence no chance, to then place the ball so inchg perfect showed great composure. Chigwell then took there foot off the the pedal and allowed Senrab to take advantage of two uncharacteristic defensive mistakes to allow Senrab to go in at the break 2-1 up.
Second half and the first ten minutes were typical Chigwell as they got there passing game going and deservedly went level through Eren following a great pass from Tom, then Andy chose the right moment to score his first goal of the season after unselfish work from Eren.
Chigwell had a scare late on when a rasping drive hit the underside of the crossbar to bounce straight down, with key defender Kieran on hand to clear.
The boys played out a nervy last few minutes in Senrabs half always aware of the danger from such strong opposition (hard to believe Senrab are not challenging in this league as they are one of the best teams faced for a while!)

Chigwell Boys 2 - 1 Colebrook Royals 8th Mar 2009 League
Chigwell did it again, Just! The boys left it to almost the last kick of the game to secure all three points against a strong Colebrook side and remain top of the table.
1st half and Chigwell took a little over five minutes to take the lead through Eren who scored one of his easier goals , following up after a fine save from a rasping shot from inspirational midfielder Myles, All credit to Colebrook who came straight back at Chigwell, the boys were perhaps a little guilty of holding on to the ball for too long afterwards, maybe scoring so early gave them a false sense of security but a lesson was learnt when Chigwell were dispossessed on the edge of the oppositions box and the resulting long ball forwards beat the defence and Colebrooks Charlie scored a peach of a goal on the half volley from all of twenty yards. (It needed to be something special to beat keeper James Manning who was having a great game)
2nd half and full credit to Colebrook who were determined to keep bodies behind the ball and come back with at least a point, that said the defensive trio of James, Man of the Match George and Andy (who is looking more confident with every game) had to be at there best as Colebrook were looking dangerous when counter attacking. With less than ten minutes remaining Chigwells fitness levels were starting to tip the balance in there favour. Eren unselfish work pulling the oppositions defence out of position was beginning to leave gaps for Captain Finley and more influentially Match winner Myles to exploit, The heavens opened with about five minutes to go and the game looked like ending in a draw when with about a minute to go Myles carved himself an opening to go one on one with the keeper, he picked his spot and agonisingly the ball went just wide of the post. with the time ticking away Eren won the ball in the centre of the park from the resulting Goal kick and immediately set Myles through one on one, this time Myles made no mistake calmly slotting the ball home with what was to be almost the last kick of the game.
The boys have been asked a few questions over the last few games and have been able to come up with the answers albeit a little late today, Special mentions to keeper James who is looking more and more confident with every game (its easy to forget this is only his first season in goal), Andy and Charlie who are both starting to play to there potential, Kieran who is making a great effort to be available as cover when needed (much appreciated Kieran), George who earns Man of the Match for his strong performance in defence, Max who is settling in just great, Captain Finley for sticking to the game plan, Eren for working for the team unselfishly and last but definitely not least Myles whose never say die attitude is inspiration to all

Dagenham Utd C 4 - 4 Chigwell Boys 1st Mar 2009 League
Chigwell were forced to shuffle the pack again, with defenders Kieran unavailable and George twisting his knee the previous day.
Andy and Tom bravely stepped into their shoes. Dagenham sensed an opportunity to pressure our inexperienced back line and was deservedly 3-0 up after 15 minutes.
George bravely entered the fray and with one of his trade mark throws sent Myles, who was having an awesome game, on his way to reduce the deficit. The boys were then undone by a great piece of skill from Dagenham's Man of the Match Morgan (To complete his well earned hat trick) to go in 4-1 down, to put this into context in all twelve competitive games this season the boys have only conceded 9 goals!
What a half time, we had tears, tantrums, a lot of soul searching and some harsh words. By the time the boys went back onto the pitch they were ready for the task ahead.
The second half was probably the best all round team performance seen from Chigwell. With each and every boy giving their all and playing their part to get back to 4-4.They were led admirably by captain Finley, who was back to his best. He and Myles dominated a very strong midfield helped in succession by Max who's late inclusion made one hell of a difference ( its hard to believe it's only his third competitive match) and then by Andy who's second half performance showed us all what he is capable of. George set the tone for the second half with some hard tackles in defence he was partnered confidently by Charlie and with Eren up front causing their defence havoc, Chigwell were in control all over the pitch. Chigwell's attitude was duly rewarded with Erens second hat trick in as many matches MUTIFULL!!!!!!!!.
It would be unfair to single out any boy today but a special mention must be given to Charlie who has gone from strength to strength with every match.
In all honesty if the game had gone on any longer the boys would have got the win they truly deserved. All credit to the lads who showed their strength, courage, commitment, together with their obvious football ability and point blank refusal to give up they deservedly keep their unbeaten league record this season intact. (8 wins, 2 draws) and maintain their position at the top of the table.
Full credit must be given to both sets of boys, parents, coaches and the referee who all contributed to a great game. This game will live in the memory for quite a while.

Chigwell Boys 5-1 Aztec Boys 22nd Feb 2009 League
Chigwell showed their strength in depth, to win this tough encounter against one of the best footballing sides in this division and remain top of the table.Keeper James withdrew due to sickness leaving his place between the sticks to George who instilled confidence in all. This in turn gave Andy and Charlie an opportunity to show their defensive qualities aided admirably by Kieran.
1st half, from the off Chigwell penned back a resillient Aztec side refusing to let them take advantage of the slope. Man of the Match Myles and inspirational captain Finley were running the midfield and forward Eren had one hell of a game showing everyone what a forward he is. It was only a matter of time that the deadlock was broken. Charlie kept up his scoring run, capitalising on a fine parry from Erens strike on goal to put Chigwell one up. Full credit to Aztec who took full advantage of a couple of defensive errors to equalise. Eren then scored an exquisite goal sending the keeper the wrong way to ensure the boys went in 2-1 up.
2nd half and Eren killed the game off by stealing the ball directly after Aztec kicked off and going on one of his trademark runs before netting his second. New signing Max came on and helped open the game up with some fine passing. Soon after Eren got his third, bundling home from a free kick to complete his thoroughly deserved hat trick MUTIFUL! Tom came on to strengthen the midfield and Man of the match Myles rounded it off with a thoroughly deserved goal.
In all honestly the boys were unlucky not to have scored more, having hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions and Aztecs keeper was kept pretty busy throughout. Special mention to Deputy Keeper George who instilled confidence in his team

Leaside Colts 1 - 4 Chigwell Boys 8th Feb 2009 League
'The boys looked a little shocked today when they went behind to a wicked deflection with keeper James having no chance. As normal this inspired Chigwell and especially Midfield General Myles who was working tireless to dominate the game. He was rewarded with the equaliser, man of the Match Andy floated in a lovely corner which Eren pounced on, the ball fell kindly for Myles to drive home 1-1.
Eren was in inspired form and hit a great shot which Leasides Man of the Match goalkeeper Alex Woodhall did well to stop but he had no chance with Charlies follow up, 2-1 Chigwell. Eren was not going to be left off the scoresheet scoring another spectacular solo effort 3-1. The boys continued to apply pressure and after another wicked shot from Eren was parried, Tom slotted home the rebound 4-1.
Second half and Chigwell shuffled the pack pushing Finley up front with Eren, and Tom supporting Myles in midfield, leaving the defensive trio of Andy, George and James to sweep up when called upon. Chigwell had plenty of possession but couldnt capitalise, Eren saw the game out in midfield and the closest Chigwell came to increasing the score was from a great left footed free kick from George which the Goalkeeper pushed onto the cross bar only to drop behind onto the line. All in all a good performance from the boys especially considering there were boys out there playing in positions not familiar to them.

Chigwell Boys 7 - 0 Senrab A 1st Feb 2009 League
Finally Chigwell managed to play a game, their last being on Nov 16th. The question on everyone's mind was how the boys were going to react after such an lengthy lay off? Despite inspirational captain Finley Horn being unavailable, the boys blew away a gutsy Senrab A side.
The game was effectively over after 8 minutes with the boys 3-0 up. Eren Muti scored the first, before Man of the Match Charlie Bell's well earned brace. Eren scored his second and Chigwell's fourth, after some great play by inspirational captain Myles Judd, who dominated the game from start to finish for Chigwell to go in at half time 4-0 up.
Second half - Full credit to Senrab who came out fired up and put the defensive trio of Goalkeeper James Manning, Defenders George Sewell and Kieran Hilson, aided admirably by midfield dynamo Myles under pressure. With a succession of corners, Eren re entered the game with less than 10 minutes to go and earned himself a second half hat trick (Five in total) capping it off with a fine solo effort, taking on three defenders before rounding the keeper and calmly slotting it home!
A special mention to debutant Max Bentley who fitted into the team with ease, working tirelessly in attack and defence. He was desperately unlucky not to get on the scoresheet on a couple of occasions and looks to be a great asset to the team.
Overall a good organised TEAM performance with each and every lad playing their part.

Buckhurst Hill 1 - 0 Chigwell boys 23rd Nov 2008 3rd Round cup
Chigwell’s were looking for a performance today after the dissapointing displays of the previous two weeks and the boys stepped up to the mark!
Dissapointing as it was to suffer ther first loss of the season there were plenty of positives to be taken from this encounter with a team three divisions above.
1st half – Both teams settled into the game and Chigwell started to press, pass the ball and the play the type of football that makes them hard to beat. Buckhurst Hill probably had the better of the chances and Chigwell’s keeper James made several great saves to keep Chigwell in the game. With both teams looking to go forward, Buckhurst Hill then scored what proved to be the only goal of the game, which was soft and disappointing from Chigwell point of view.
2nd half – The second half continued where the first half finished with both teams looking to get forward. Chigwell then started to press and had several opportunities to get on level terms. with Finley dominating the midfield and Eren & Myles causing Buckhurst Hill plenty of problems up front. A special mention to man of the match Andy, who stepped into defence for his first full game and played very well!
A great game which Chigwell deserved to get something out of, but a good positive performance from which we can build from and take into the league. Buckhurst Hill are a quality mid table Premier side and we certainly competed and did not look out of place!

Chigwell Boys 2 - 2 Dagenham Utd C 16th Nov 2008 League
With Chigwell’s previous Cup victory over United, it was fully expected that Dagenham would be seeking revenge and would be fired up for this game!
1st half – As suspected, Dagenham started to pressurise Chigwell from the kick off and settled into the game with some good passing. Chigwell started slow and with a combination of poor positional play and sloppy defending, found themselves a goal down within 10 minutes. Chigwell started to get into the game and might have made more of their pressure and advantage of the slope, if they had passed the ball better in Dagenham’s final third. Both teams continued to press and Chigwell equalised with a superbly taken free kick from Finley, resulting from a foul on Myles by Morgan just on the stroke of half time.
2nd half – The second half continued where the first half finished off with both teams going all out to secure victory. Dagenham took full advantage of the slope in the second half and scored a well taken goal from a long ball which Chigwell’s defence failed to deal with! Chigwell then needing to score to get anything out of the game, started to settle into their normal passing game and began to create chances. Eren was then fouled, Finley took the free kick which the rebounded of the post from a great save from the keeper. Chigwell continued to pressure and Eren equalised from a corner a few minutes from time. Both teams then went all out to score the winner!
A great, hard fought game which neither team deserved to lose and a draw was the correct result.
However, Chigwell do need to settle and get back playing the type of football which previously took them to the top of the league.

Aztec 1 v Chigwell Boys 3 9th Nov 2008 League
Another good advert for Junior Echo League Football with coaches, parents and players contributing to a good atmosphere.
1st half – Chigwell started off slow and it was clear to see that Aztec were well up for this game and started pressing Chigwell from the kick off. Both teams continued to battle hard despite the wind, but the game became a bit scrappy with both teams having chances to score. Keeper James Manning commanded his box well, made some great saves and prevented Aztec scoring on a couple of occasions. Both teams went in at half time level and with everything to play for!
2nd half – Aztec continued to press in the second half and were rewarded with a goal. This woke Chigwell up and we began to settle into our normal passing game and started to pressure Aztec’s defence. Chigwell then equalized from a well taken corner from Finley, which was superbly met on the half volley from Eren. Aztec continued to press, but Chigwell settled, started to apply pressure in Aztec’s final third and took the lead from an unlucky own goal headed off one of Aztec’s defenders. Chigwell with their noses in front continued to battle and Tom was brought on and played well up front with Eren, who started to dominate Aztec’s defence. This resulted in Chigwell’s third, a great run from Eren with a shot/cross into the box which again resulted in an own goal. That being said, if the defender had not have tried to block the ball deflecting it into is own goal, either the ball would have crossed the line or scored by Tom who was ready to make sure.
Today was the hardest game Chigwell have faced for a while and Captain Kieran and George in defence were under a lot of pressure from the start, particularly from Aztec’s big number 9! keeper James continued to play well, made several crucial saves and clearances to earn him his well deserved man of the man award. Both teams fought hard to take all three points and neither team really deserved to lose the game, but Chigwell took the points by keeping to their game plan and there continued pressure bought them a bit of good fortune!

Dagenham Utd C 0 - 1 Chigwell Boys 26th Oct 2008 2nd round cup
Today we witnessed a great advert for kids football with two evenly matched teams attempting to play the game in the right spirit, credit must go to the boys, their parents, the referee, the coaches and managers.
Win, lose or draw its always a great experience when thse two teams meet.
1st half – Both teams started off nervously but Chigwell began passing the ball around and soon settled into their game. Finley received the ball on the right, went through on goal but put his shot over the bar. Unfortunately, this resulted in him injuring himself and he was replaced by Bobby as Chigwell went 3 at the back. Chigwell then took the lead after about 5 minutes with a well taken goal from Eren on the break, George disposessed Morgan on the edge of Chigwells penalty area and sent a ball down the line for Man of the Match Tom who put Eren in one on one with the keeper with a great through ball. Eren calmly stroked the ball into the bottom right hand corner to score what was to be the decisive goal!
Finley recovered from his injury and was reintroduced to the game. Charlie came on and his pace upset the home team, Both teams continued to battle it out with Chigwell restricting Dagenham to long range opportunities which keeper James dealt with comfortably and Chigwell were guilty of missing the better opportunities to stretch their lead.
2nd half – Chigwell then prepared for the onslaught from Dagenham as they looked for the equaliser but also continued to apply pressure and were pressing for the 2nd goal. Dagenham stepped up the pressure towards the end of the match, but Chigwell’s defensive trio of James, Kieran and George coped well with Dagenham’s attack. Late on Dagenham were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box, which caused a moment of tension when the subsequent well executed free kick from Morgan hit Chigwell’s cross bar. Chigwell then continued to apply pressure, aided by a superb performance by man of the match Tom, who held the ball up, ran at their defence all match and Tom, Myles, Eren and Finley all had opportunities to score and secure the match. Special mention to midfielder Myles who stuck to his task admirably and defender Kieran who never gave Dagenham utd Cs prolific goalscorer louie a chance.
All in all, a great game with both teams competing well in a hard fought match, with Chigwell ending up the deserved winners! The whole team played their part in the victory to put Chigwell into the next round, but a special mention to Tom who played his best game in Chigwell’s colours to date!

Chigwell Boys 5 - 0 Leaside Colts 19th Oct 2008 League
1st half - Chigwell kicked off and soon settled into the game and took the lead early with a well worked goal, with a great ball from Finley which Charlie hit first time with a great shot! The shot took Leaside's keeper by surprise and crept just inside his near post. Chigwell continued to control the game, apply pressure and were awarded with their 2nd from Eren.
2nd half - Chigwell took immediate control of the game and another great performance from Finley in midfield, was rewarded by a superb goal hit from 20-25 yards! All Chigwell's players throughout the game passed the ball well to dominate and Myles scored 2 in the box, both from well taken corners from Finlay & George.
Chigwell's defence had little to do throughout the entire game, but coped well and looked comfortable when Leaside got into our final third.
All in all, a good performance from Chigwell to go top of the table with a good goal difference, which could have been a lot more other than a fine performance from Leaside's keeper!

Harold Hill 2 - 3 Chigwell Boys 12th Oct 2008 League
The conditions were perfect and Chigwell Boys new what was in front of them
to go top of the table.
Harold Hill kicked off and from the start looked to unsettle Chigwell passing game with a physical presence in midfield & attack.
The game settled down, Finley Horn & Myles Judd starting taking control of the midfield and Eren Muti scored his first goal of a well earned hat-trick from a counter attacking move. Eren then took advantage of a mistake fromthe restart and went clean through to score his and Chigwell's 2nd. Chigwell were looking comfortably in control of the game but Harold Hill scored just before half-time with a fortunate goal.
Second half - Harold Hill starting to apply the pressure but Eren received the ball to run clear through on goal to score his third. Harold Hill needing to chase the game pushed players forward and were rewarded by a goal.
Harold Hill continued to push forward but Chigwell's defence of Kieran Hilson & Bobby Pearce (George Sewell) battled well to earn Chigwell all 3points. A tough, well fought battle by all Chigwell's players to make it 3 wins out of 3 and a good start to the season!

Westward 0 - 3 Chigwell Boys 21st Sep 2008 League
Chigwell battled hard and managed to play some quality football to secure victory against a strong footballing side.
Finley Horn and Myles Judds partnership in midfield was again the key to success, The boys dominated allowing forwards Eren Muti, Charlie Bell and Man of the Match Tom Collister to cause problems up front. In defence captain Bobby Pearce stepped in to replace the injured Kieran Hilson and performed admirably.
The boys came in at half time aggrieved they were only 2-0 up, The first was typical of Eren Muti firing home after George Sewells Free kick was deflected into his path, the second was an absolute screamer from 20 yards out by Myles, an early contender for goal of the season!
Second Half and Eren effectively killed the game off with his second and Chigwells third. (Eren looks like he's going to make a great improvement to the team, shame the sun stopped him from celebrating a deserved hat trick).
Special mention to keeper James Manning who in all honesty hasn't had an awful lot to do in the last couple of Matches but when called upon is already looking an Accomplished keeper inspiring confidence in all.
all in all another accomplished performance from a team growing in confidence.

Chigwell Boys 3 v 1 Rushingham 14th Sep 2008 League
Newly promoted Rushingham pushed Chigwell all the way in this exciting start to the 2008/09 season.
Chigwell Boys were playing their first home matches at Chigwell School, the pitches were perfect and the sun was shining and the game did not disapoint.
Stand in captain Finley Horn was inspirational in midfield and with Myles Judd alongside, the pair worked tirelessly to control the game and whenever the opposition managed to break through, the defensive trio of George Sewell, Kieran Hilson and keeper James Manning looked comfortable and impressed with their distribution of the ball.
Up front new signing Eren Muti was a real handful, his efforts being rewarded with a brace on his league debut (could of been a hat trick but we won't mention the penalty miss). Andy Martin, Tom Collister and Charlie Bell all took it in turns to stretch the game, Man of the Match Charlie being rewarded with a goal in the second half.
Bobby Pearce never got a lot of football today but showed all the strength in depth Chigwell have when he came on
Chigwell went in 1-0 up, scored early in the second half to make it 2-0, Missed a penalty then conceded 2-1, before scoring again, 3-1 making sure of all 3 points. Rushingham fought all the way and will be formidable opposition in the return fixture!
All in all a creditable performance against a good team
